Had a wonderful lunch experience here! Went around lunchtime on a Wednesday, and it was very quiet, which made for a relaxed dining atmosphere. The food was fresh with really good flavors—each dish tasted like it was made with quality ingredients and care. Service was also excellent, attentive without being intrusive. All in all, a great spot for a quiet, tasty meal. Highly recommend!

I loved the ambience. Music playing in the background, dim lights and honestly a really big space. We got a seat for 7 people. The ladies who served us were really lovely. The food came on time. We ordered 2 platters. It had 2 different kinds of rice, chips, lamb chops, chicken wings, coleslaw and like 2 or 3 big pieces of chicken and we all ate to our satisfaction, everything tasted lovely. I particularly loved the lamb chops(special shout-out to the chef who made it). They played a birthday song for the celebrant with dessert and sparks ( picture attached). Overall a great experience.

I had never tried African food before and stumbled upon this restaurant. I never expected that it opened up new taste buds for me. Until now, I thought African food was just some very dry meat. But it turns out that traditional African food has a lot of delicious, tender meat and very unique sauces.The layout and decoration of the restaurant are good. The service attitude of the waiters is also attentive. Most importantly, the food selection is rich, unique and very delicious. I personally recommend the lamb kebabs. The curry rice with African sauce is also very delicious.Highly recommended. I will definitely come back again.

Excellent food by the chef. Felt like being back in Africa!!! Superb service by Fariha... the five types of sauces were just divine! Overall drinks prices and food prices were so reasonable compared to other establishments!

We came from London to visit Afrikana Leicester after hearing glowing reviews about it and safe to say everything was amazing from the decor to the food.. Special thanks to Toby and Freya who went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing dinner and an amazing dining experience at Afrikana.. For starters we ordered the 'Hummus & Bread', 'Lady Fingers' (Deep Fried Okra) and 'Prawn To Be Wild' all tasted amazing in particular the Lady Fingers.. For mains we ordered the 'Island Fish & Chips' and the 'Steak It On Me' which was the spiced sirloin steak.. For the kids we ordered the peri coated fish fingers & chips and the smash burger & chips.. We was amazed at how big the portions were and how phenomenal each dish tasted. Thank you Afrikana Leicester for the amazing evening.. Highly recommended!!!

We had a lovely time here celebrating a birthday! The food was delicious. We got starters, a goat curry to try, and the sharing platter and it was enough for all of us! Our favorite starter were the lady fingers and we found the meat to be soft and tasty! They brought out a complimentary cake slice which had “Happy birthday mom” written in icing and with a huge candle and had birthday music playing as it came! Surely made the occasion special. Would recommend this place. We also were served by Rumanah & Mahima and they were both very sweet and attentive! Thank you to both of them!

Amna was exceptional with the service she rendered. I’m really happy with how she was patient with us when we needed help ordering and also offered good suggestions. At the end, my friends and I not only enjoyed the experience and food but also left with a heart and gallery full of memories. It was definitely worth coming here and wouldn’t mind coming back again

I went along with my husband and children. We were greeted very warmly on arrival. We had not booked a table, but in the large, spacious restaurant, we were seated in a large booth immediately. The young lady that was serving us was exceedingly friendly and helpful from start to finish. She solely made our whole evening very pleasant. She deserves a pay rise! I have visited Afrikana twice before, and each time, I can honestly say that the service was amazing from everyone. My son ordered an item which the server quickly pointed out that it was quite spicy so we opted for something different for him. This was honestly a blessing. We have been to restaurants before where food orders are simply taken with no advice or recommendations made. The food was all lovely. The chicken I ate was slightly tough but the flavours were all delicious. The restaurant is fully halal with a dry bar serving delicious mocktails. There is also a small prayer room that accommodates 3-4 people at a time. The toilets are nicely decorated and kept clean. I would definitely recommend Afrikana for a delicious meal, in beautiful surroundings, and with excellent service.
